Question about 1985 Honda Accord
Hey, It's a bad ignition switch in the steering column. I had the same problem and as luck would have it, mine was fixed free by Honda on a recall ( honda recall was dated May 16th 2002) Check it out!! They only needed my car for an hour to do it.

If you live in a temperate area, you may have some connector problems after ten years.
I would pull apart and inspect each connector under the hood that makes sense; i.e. electrical connectors for the windshield washer and AC wouldn't cause that.
If you see any signs of dull contacts in any of the connectors, I would treat them with some dielectric grease or at least petroleum grease and plug and unplug them several times to bite through any oxidation.
It doesn't really sound like a fixed failure since it changes all of the time.
Note too, if it seems more common under certain weather conditions in case one of the countless semiconductors in modern cars is failing which can also cause intermittent operation.
If you do, and cannot find the problem, pass that on to your service guy.
