Question about 2004 Ford Escape

IGNITION KEY DOESN'T WORK

Accidentally put the wrong key in the ignition and it got stuck. I have a 2004 Ford Escape and put my husbands Subaru key in there. After working with patiently with it was able to get it unstuck. Now the correct key doesn't work anymore - I also tried the spare. It's just locked up.

You accidently tripped the anti theft deterrent that lock the whole ignition system when the worng key or a foriegn object is inserted into the slot. The only way to fix this, is to have it taken to a ford repair shop, since they will probably have to replace the whole steering collum.
