I do not know if you can help?
I have had the 2.0 Grand Vitara for 2 years and it is a lovely car in just about all respects.
However it has appalling petrol consumption, even from new. I average 24 / 25 to the gallon and even if I crawl along at 45 / 50 mph I still cannot reach the 30's. I have had my local mechanic ( not a Suzuki dealer! ) have a look at it and he says that all the Manufacturer's settings are correct. Surely there is something that can be done?

You are doing better than average on your mileage. The estimated mileage for the 4 cylinder engine is 19mpg city and 26 mpg highway. Your mileage is actually quite good for a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

All parts stores can get you the right belt with info about your truck. Year, make, model, engine size. Also spring for the complete belt or bearing kit. This is not a do it yourself task.
my 1993 very recently aguired.Grand vitara deisel. has imoberlised it's self. have had guys up with computer diognostics and found it in safe mode.found fault on turbo charger fixed it..all go, went for a short run ..great turned it off and on twice all fine.....next morning it had imoberlised itself again guys came with computer no fault found.. but it still will not start....help please........
