Question about 2000 Chevrolet Venture

1 Answer

HEAD LIGHTS The head lights have yellowed badly on my 2000 Venture. At night in the country I have to use my high beams and that is with the special replacement bulbs that offer 20% more brightness. Do you know of similiar problems or maybe a recall??

I had the same thing happen with my lights. however i noticed there were cracks in the caseings for the lights and moisture was getting inside. It would appear that the heat from the lights and the moisture are what caused the problem. I have sinse replaced the housings and dont have that problem anymore. I went to an auto wreckers for used parts. much cheaper than new! very easy to do it yourself too.

My 1989 gmc serra the head lights don't light the road to well is there something I can do ? different type of bulb

dull head lights cab be from several things
1-bad reflectors behind the bulbs --any yellowing, rusting or dull reflector surfaces -- replace head light assemblies
2 badly aligned head lights-- beams shining off into space instead of on the road. --- have an alignment done on the lights
3 wet roads do not reflect head lights properly so it appears that the lights are not working well--- not much to do. the light reflects forward of the wet surface and not back to the driver
4 only one head light or no main beams and running on low beams only--- check light operation and check light control module for operation

My low beams keep shutting on and off but high beams are fine

this could be solved by taking the bulb out of its holder and cleaning the contact of the bulb and holder.
turn the ignition on after this with the bulbs in the holder and plugged in but not in the headlight kitself.Turn the lights on and see if the work if still the same try moving the bulb while on in its older and see if its just loose. if so holding it one way it will work. wedge something something to hold it in place or buy a used bulb holder.
Check the fuses at the same time and the wire plug that powers the bulb. check and clean the contacts of these also
Let me know how it goes and ill help again if it persists.

97 linc town car/ at night the auto head lights turn on. on low beam, works fine then when using turn signal the headlights go out. hit signal arm to high beam, and the lights come on, then i put back on...

You have a bad mutifunction switch or headlight switch is going bad and is over heating then cooling off comming back on Have a mechanic check it cause there are other things that can cause this. Since it's not blowing a fuse at this time I would say the head light switch is bad.

Head lights cut off when I cut on high beams..98 Dakota

Check to see if you have a special fuse for the High
beams. Look for a relay for your headlights and
test it.
