Question about 1999 GMC Suburban

Truck dies when hot

I have a GMC Suburban 1500 SLT that dies when it is run for more than 15 miles.  We just replaced the catalytic converters, as this appeared to be the issue.  When you would accelerate the vehicle, there would be no response.  After replacing the converters, this disappeared and the truck ran great.  I don't know where to look for the problem.  The truck will not run, once dead, for hours after it dies.

2005 GMC Yukon Denali's computer shuts down after the truck warms up

sounds like a fuel problem, how many miles on vehicle? as a quick fix it would be worth using a fuel addative , you haven't said if petrol or diesel, if petrol get addative that covers the catalytic converter ,having a blocked exhaust system can cause engine to stall also get the OBD codes read as this will tell you what if any sensors/switch's are faulty

Truck will start, but after a few seconds, it dies. It will not go over 25 mph, and when I brake to a stop, it dies.I replaced the fuel pump, what else could it be?

Clogged catalytic converter. My brother actually had one explode under the vehicle
after fuel built up in it. You could try unhooking it ahead of the catalytic converter to
test.

Most likely cause fuel pressure ineffient. It is also possible the catalytic convertors are clogging up. Next time it happens feel the floor board above the cats if it is hot then you most likely know what is causing your issue is clogged cats.

jeeze, so many "common" causes. but THE most likely cause is an oxygen sensor out of range. replacing same and driving several miles might get you lucky and save some money. but note, a restricted fuel or air filter will likewise make this sensor report bad data and set the same code. in other words, don't ignore maintenance issues...

Looses power and wont stay in Overdrive

How old is your exhaust system? Do you seem to lose power faster on an incline? Sounds like your exhaust is restricted and the main culprit usually is the catalytic converter. Try having your local repair shop do an emissions test. Hope that might help you.
