Question about 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Hello, i recently has my mechanic change a torque converter and since it changed, it will not shift at all, it stays in 1st gear. He said take it to a transmission shop and have them do a probe on it, is this true? what is a probe? any recommendations?
A probe check is a check of the wiring that goes to the trans to see if no wires are broken.your problem mite be the torque converter solonoid.

It sounds like the mechanic didn't properly adjust the inhibitor switch and transmission control cable.
