I just bought a 09 Suzuki SX4 and it says it is XM ready. The sticker said it came with satellite radio, but when I push the XM button it doesn't do anything. What do I need to do? I can't believe I should have to spend $400 at a dealer!

You probablt have to have it activated in your name...I believe you need to get an account from xm for the unit to work

  • katec810 Jan 18, 2011

I tried that, but it doesn't even register Channel 1, which is what they (XM) told me to look for. Apparently there ISN'T a tuner in the car. Can I buy the kind of tuner that will work within the existing system?

I have a 2011 Honda Pilot. When I push the XM button it won't even change over to the XM radio. It is like there is no XM capability in my car. What can I do?

Often times you'll need an aftermarket integration kit to get an XM ready car radio to work. This is a two part system including the tuner to tie the subscription to and a translator to code it so the radio face will understand and display the information accurately. You can find such a kit for your car here: http://www.tss-radio.com/isimple-factory-ipod-xm-integration-for-honda-acura-vehicles-hd1.html

How do you plug your ipod into a suzuki sx4 2007? it says it has mp3 connection, but there is no outlet

if your model does not have an auxillary input, they may mean that it plays MP3 CDs. if there is not clearly an auxillary input, there is nothing else hidden in behind.

My car says xm ready.... but it doesnt work the dealer says i need to buy a tuner from them but it cost to much.... i was wondering is there a different tuner that is compatible with my suzuki 09 SX4 sport

There might be one if you go to a car stero store. I install the Suzuki XM tuner. The reason it is expensive, the tuner goes in the back of the car and you run the cable from there to the radio. Don Suzuki man

2005 Honda CR-V won't go to XM radio.

"XM Ready" means that you have to have a satelite radio installed in order to have XM service. I went through this when buying my 2005 CR-V and thought that all I needed was to set up the service. If you have an XM receiver installed you can controll it on your Honda factory radio. It is very misleading.
