I just bought a 09 Suzuki SX4 and it says it is XM ready. The sticker said it came with satellite radio, but when I push the XM button it doesn't do anything. What do I need to do? I can't believe I should have to spend $400 at a dealer!
I tried that, but it doesn't even register Channel 1, which is what they (XM) told me to look for. Apparently there ISN'T a tuner in the car. Can I buy the kind of tuner that will work within the existing system?I tried that, but it doesn't even register Channel 1, which is what they (XM) told me to look for. Often times you'll need an aftermarket integration kit to get an XM ready car radio to work. This is a two part system including the tuner to tie the subscription to and a translator to code it so the radio face will understand and display the information accurately. You can find such a kit for your car here: http://www.tss-radio.com/isimple-factory-ipod-xm-integration-for-honda-acura-vehicles-hd1.html
if your model does not have an auxillary input, they may mean that it plays MP3 CDs. if there is not clearly an auxillary input, there is nothing else hidden in behind.
There might be one if you go to a car stero store. I install the Suzuki XM tuner. The reason it is expensive, the tuner goes in the back of the car and you run the cable from there to the radio. Don Suzuki man
have you subscribed to the satellite srvice that your radio has ? sirius or xm radio? the only way to get these channels is to pay a monthly subscription
go to who installed you sat radio have them pull the antenna and receck the the receiver number it sounds like you have the wrong reciever number even one digit off and it will never conect even tho you have preview and sat radio paired with an antenna will recieve preview
"XM Ready" means that you have to have a satelite radio installed in order to have XM service. I went through this when buying my 2005 CR-V and thought that all I needed was to set up the service. If you have an XM receiver installed you can controll it on your Honda factory radio. It is very misleading.
