Question about 2003 BMW 330

1 Answer

Radio I own a 2002 BMW 330xi. My radio has been turning on by itself with the key out. The stereo has never been replaced. I had a problem turning it on with the key out of the ignition. I had to unlock the car even with the car already unlocked, then the radio came on when you pushed the button. What would be the cause of the radio turning on by itself?

I have a 2002 Ford Escort zx2 I replace the battery 3 days ago and my radio will still not turn on... any suggestions??

Check the radio fuse in the fuse box. Maybe its blown, otherwise it may be a failure of wiring or the radio itself. Check the wiring before removing the radio to check the back of it. Check the wiring in the attached link:

Wont start 2003 bmw 330xi

Remove battery terminals and clean both posts and terminals
with sandpaper until you see shiny metal. The black coating is lead sulphate which has a high resistance to current flow both into and out of the battery. Also check the battery in you key as the immobiliser may not be reading it.

My 2003 BMW 330xi won't start. There is absolutely nothing, not even a click. Battery is fine, and jumping it did nothing. Had the solenoid replaced last year.

I actually had a problem with my KEY.. will yours start with the spare key? For me, the electronic ID sequence on the key isn't recognized in the ignition.. it still manually and remotely unlocks doors, but won't start the car. The spare key (which stopped remotely unlocking doors a while back) CAN start the car...

Key not working

That is FALSE. The radio has nothing to do with charging the keys battery. Some key batterys can be replace others get recharge through the key holder. Your Im pretty sure it can be replace, if not then more than likely you need a new battery or a new key. They are common to fail after several years.

2003 BMW CI Convertable Radio/CD Problem

Had the same problem with my '03 330xi. Navigation worked fine but radio and CD did not work at all. I opened the fuse box located in the glove compartment to check the three fuses associated with the navigation system and radio. #7, #39, and #41. All three fuses were intact so I put them back in. I then put the key into the ignition, turned it to position 2 and miraculously the radio came to life. I guess it acted as some type of reset?
