I had the same problem. it sucks the key is still in the on position and the battery WILL DIE. so what u need to do is under the streering colum there is a plastic screw u remove it and stick a thin pointy object up in the hole push in the cloum lock its a metal piece while u are pushing it in turn the key. this will fix your problem.......

It shouldn't matter if the key is the original or not it has been programmed to the car immobiliser, have you changed the batteries in the key, a low battery can cause the key and immobiliser not to communicate, did you take it to a ford garage, Main dealers are always the best to deal with especially when ECU and immobilisers are involved, there may even be a software update for your car that addresses this issue, may even need a new key but they are expensive, don't buy off eBay they won't work, hope this helps
need more detail.. possible the place where u park ur car ( if this happen at same location ) possible there is radio or cell phone or frequency that causing ur car to fail.. try drive ur car car to somewhere else n try it since ur car key can get ur car start n running.. or put ur smart key on top of ur dash close to ur radio/navigation system
custom carb . who knows what you have, even diff, engine. remove hose, measure it. if not up to measuring, take it to any shop and they will tell you, what I.D it is. (most hoses are marked) the jerking can be many things. seems to me its the DASH pot effect. on custom carbs there is no dash pot, so when you drop the hammer (throttle ) you get 100% closes throttle and next snapping the orig, carb had a dash pot, now missing. one trick is to run high idle speeds, or back off throttle slower driving. or add a dashpot. it simple delays throttle snap back. sure the timing changes rpm that is why. when tuning any carb, you set timing first , then tune carb to that. stock timing and stock advance if motor is still stock, you dizzy has stock advancing weights and springs, i test those first. cheers.
does it turn over or even click when u turn key? I have one as well. Wouldn't start at gas station. There is a pot medal piece that the actual ignition pushes into that was broken. Part is not available from dealer. you'll need to get used or new column.
