Where are the o2 sensors located on exaust - 2001 Chevrolet Lumina

ones you have your trouble codes, that, will tell you exactly which one is it and youll need to replace the sensor. or maybe your wiring is broken, inspect all your wiring first, there is a special tool to remove the sensor, you need that socket and a ratchet, maybe an extension, and all the o2 sensors are located on the exhaust manifold , before and after the catalytic converter. But first you need to know which one is it, thats the most difficult part.

Oxygen sensors are always numbered like this:
Bank 1 sensor 1
Bank 2 sensor 1
Bank 1 sensor 2
Bank 2 sensor 2

Some manufacturers use a kind of shorthand that reads different, but means the same thing:
Sensor 1/1 or O2s 1/1
Sensor 2/1 or O2s 2/1
Sensor 1/2 or O2s 1/2
Sensor 2/2 or O2s 2/2

Bank 1 is always the side of the engine where cylinder number 1 is located and, of coarse, Bank 2 is the opposite side.
On a 4 cylinder engine, there is only 1 bank and it is always referred to as Bank 1.

Sensor 1 is always the upstream sensor (The one located BEFORE the catalytic converter)
Sensor 2 is always the downstream sensor (the one that is located AFTER the catalytic converter.

There are 2 o2 sensors on the caravan upstream+downstream
The downstream sensor is located on the exaust pipe at the
converter. As I don't know what engine you have, the upstream
sensors are located as follows
2.4 on exaust manifold firewall side of engine
3.0 on manifold near alternator
3.3+3.8 center of manifold firewall side

o2 senser will be in your exaust pipe close to the motor

most cars have only 2 o2 sensors one is below the exaust manifold and the other one near the catalytic converter

They should be located on the manifolds, and one after the catalytic converter.

hi im wesall o2 sensors are located in the exaust system yours has one before the converter one after if it has duall exaust before the cat on drivers side will be upstream sensor bank 1 after cat right side will be bank 2 sensor 2

hi im wes the o2 sensor is always in the exaust newer buicks have one before the converter (sometimes in the exaust manifold) one after the converter if it has duall exaust it could have four
left bank sensor one is before the converter on drivers side bank two sensor 2 would be passanger side after the converter does this help?

the 02 sensor will be in the exhaust manifold. look between engine and firewall you should see it in the middle of exhaust manifold

the bank one O2 sensor is on the exaust manifold on the left side of motor. this means it's facing toward you because this is a transverse mounted engine...please rate this..thanks
