Question about 2000 Honda Accord
I had the same problem with my 1994 honda accord. its real easy to check if you have some help. when it cuts off, raise the hood and pull a plug wire off and check to see if it is firing. chances are its not and you'll need to buy a new distributor. the crank sensor inside the distributor has gone out. pouring cold water on the distributor will cool it down and get you cranked back up but beware, it will get worse if you dont fix it now! a new distributor is close to 300.00 dollars.

There is a known problem of the ignition barrel contacts wearing and causing the engine to cut out on the Honda Accord. It was a recall issue and a new ignition barrel can be fitted by a Honda dealer free of charge.
