Question about 2000 Chevrolet 2500

Parts manual Where can I locate a parts manual for a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD? I am having a problem with the ABS. I have been told that the brake system can not be disassembled and the bearings are welded inside a hub. How do I go about tearing it down? I have a squealing noise that is not related to the brake pads... they look great. Suggestions?

The breaks look great but how are the rotors, are they warped. Sometimes you can not look and see an obvious warp. you may need to just have the rotors turned or replaced. I personaly never have rotors turned, I only replace them.

this is probably going to be a dealer part or I checked NAPA online and they carry all your parts. I found nothing about it being welded. I would just get in there and take it apart, and see. if it is then you know what you need to do. you can either get a cold chisle or pay to have the weld cut out. Like I said, I did not read anything about it being welded in, but that doesnt mean it has to be. I would get the manuel and see.

Accessing spare tire on 2001 Chevy silverado, 2500HD

These are done with a series of extentions that are part of the jack and "spare tire kit". It goes through the rear bumper and is lowered and raised by turning these poles or extentions. This more than likely has a little cover over the hole nearest the license plate I believe. Let me know if you need anything else.

2001 chevy silverado 2500hd duramax 4wd p0700 code came up after changing rotors and pads on front

You may have disconnected / or moved a broken wire to the ABS wheel sensor during the brake job. Also taking the brake fluid cap off and checking the fluid level, and just reseating the cap may turn off the code. Check these things first, check the wires to the wheel sensors check the fluid in the reservoir, reservoir top fit, and any wires / plugs at the brake ABS master cylinder. If all else fails have some one read the code.

How can I turn the ABS lights off in my 2001 Chevy Silverado

The ABS light indicates there is an issue with your ABS. If there is an Auto Zone around your area, have then scan the ECM for the DTC codes that has triggered the ABS light to come on. The common cause for this in your truck is a bad or dirty ABS sensor at the front wheels. Buy a can of brake parts cleaner and a brass feller gauge or you can just use the paper trick. Locate the ABS sensor on the inside of the front wheel hub and spray it clean with the brake parts cleaner and look for any damages caused buy corrosion or broken wire leads to the ABS sensor. If all wire leads are good, check to make sure the gap from the ABS sensor to the speed ring on the hub is correct. The gap should be 0.005 to 0.050 inch (0.127mm to 1.270mm), use a brass feeler gauge so it wont stick to the magnetic abs sensor or the thickness or a paper folded in fours. Good luck and hope this helps.
