A turbo charger takes the high speed exhaust gasses from the engine, passes it over a turbine that is coupled to a centrifugal compressor which increases the amount of air and the pressure of the air delivered to the cylinders for combustion. This greater quantity of expanded air increases the force on the piston going down on its power stroke and in turn delivers more power to the driving wheel. That is it in a nutshell!

How do I gharge the battery

Hi Anonymous:
There are actually several ways:
1) Start the engine and let the alternator charge it.
2) Attach the leads from a battery charger and turn on the battery charger.
3) Attach "jumpers" from another vehicle's battery, start that vehicle, and leave it running long enough to charge the battery.
- ALWAYS CONNECT POSITIVE TO POSITIVE, AND NEGATIVE TO NEGATIVE.
- CONNECT NEGATIVE LAST.
- MAKE SURE BATTERY HAS CORRECT FLUID LEVEL
- WORK SAFE! BATTERY FLUID IS ACID AND CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS.

Can alternator put out 14.2 volts but not enough amps to charge battery and turn off dattery light?

Yes and no.
It sounds like you have a wiring problem.
The alternator output could be 14 volts and only one or two amps, but that would be enough to kill the warning light. Its more likely the alternator is charging but the current is not reaching the battery.

Battery keeps running down on 96 cadillac elderado

if battery keeps running down. check the voltage across the batery posts while car is off.should be around 12.5 to13 volts. then with tester hooked up to battery, start the car. if alternator is ok, it while read about 14 volts give or take a few volts. if the gharging is low its a bad alternator or the drive belt.

Alt,will not charge battery

You need to check on the charging current to confirm that the alternator charge is good. Also if the rectifier/regulator is working and in order.please check the link below;

I have a 94 eagle talon 2.0 non-turba that i just replaced the head gasket in and for some reason the car is having starting issues when it warms up, it stalls when put into gear and the Rad fans don't...

Look at the coolant temp sensor,it tells the relays for the cooling fans ,to turn on the cooling fans, and has to do with the lean, and enrichment of the engine, engine performance.

I put a brand new battery in the truck and it was

Well its either the battery is also nogood or you have a dead short in the wiring.
TAKE the feed off the battery and charge it up to max gharge 12volts, then just touch the lead on to the lug and if it has a small spark then you have a short,
But make sure everything is turned off before you do it if there is no spark at all try putting a test light between battery and cable lug,if it lights you still have a dead short...Let me know how you go Ron

Takes a jump to start but dies

More infomation neededas if the battery is new and the truck still needs a jump start then the battery /or wiring/Starter motor etc are no good as the battery is good for 12.5 volts and when running 13.5 max gharge so the engine should start and run 100% Unless you have a bad short somewere..
Also check fuel pump feed .
But check Starter motor first
