I have a 2004 VW Passat with a check engine light. I scanned the vehicle with a small obd11 reader from Mac Tools. It is reading "PO600 data bus malfunction". Tha tranmission feels like it starting out in either 2nd or 3rd gear and feels like an anchor is tied to the back... Is there a common problem or maybe a TSB on this vehicle? It a 2004 VW Passat VR-6..

Code 00264 = N91 Solenoid faulty. It controls torque coverter lockup function. needs to be replace. Crappy job, transmission oil must be drained before you can get to it. Check out http://volkswagen-polo-highline.blogspot.com

2001 VW passat code PO600

The PCm (cars computer) is nolonger working correctly. its a loss of communication issue. Back to the dealer you have to go possibly for a new computer and to have it reprogrammed. First tho, Check ALL the fuses under the hood and under the driver side dash board area. Most likely will be in the box under the hood.

2000 VW Jetta squealing when shifting from 2-3rd and hard shift down when going up hill

hi if its just second to thrid then the clutch is slipping on thrid gear look at the boxes oil level is important but look at the colour is it red and tranperant as this is ok if its brown its a sign of the clutches slipping i would try a stall test on thrid gear first and if its ok second gear [manually] see is the engine stalls at the correct rpm if you thinkabout it imagine you are in thrid gear in a manuual box and suddenly drop into second it would be hard shifting it could also be a faulty thrid gear solenoid yates210456
