Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle

2 Answers

Air Conditioning I have a 2000 VW Beetle. It has a 2 litre engine. I am currently having problems with the air conditioning. I had it checked out and the service person tells me that all components are working properly. He states that the problem could be with the relay switch. Can you tell me where the relay switch for the air conditioning is located?

2000 beetle automatic NO A/C. system full - new fan control module - checked all 5 fuses - new ambient temp sensor. a/c clutch is good.

Same problem. A/C suddenly failed. Dealer service dept said it could be the fan control or clutch and it appeared not to be the compressor. $130 to tell me that and $560 more to fix it. Am going to try to do it myself. I can't specifically find mention of "fan control" - do they mean fan controller? I hope so because the clutch is some $400. I've read elsewhere to get a new compressor for about the same price since it includes the clutch. I find this hard to believe - is it true?

Check the fuses under the hood for corroision. They should be locarted on the right hand side looking under the hood. I have a 2000 beetle that I was having problems with. technicans check everything and said all was o.k.. I found a fuse that was burnt up and cover with corroison. I cleaned the terminals replaced the fuse and have had no more problems.

View the attached website to see if your problem is in the fuse block that is under the hood immediately on top of the car's battery.

Also, the car's blower motor/climate control is controlled by the 25 amp fuse No. 25 in the fuse block located at the end of your dashboard.

Hi, There is the relay panel which is located in the dash board, driver's side, just above the pedals. You would need to use a Torx Driver No.20 to open the panel above the pedals.
