Question about 1991 Toyota Pickup
My '91 pickup has just developed a strong gas odor. It is only noticable when the truck has been run for a while, and then it is very strong, both inside the cab and outside the vehicle. If the truck sits for a while, the odor goes away. I have looked in the engine compartment, but cannot see anything obvious, and frankly I don't know if I am looking in the right places. Mine is not a gas smell as such. It smells for likea combination of exhaust and gas. I have check the exhaust system and nothing seems loose. Could it have something to do with the catalitic converter? I have a 91 4 cylinder 4x4.
Check if the cadillac converter gaskets are good and tight and no holes in it if all good it might be worn out thats a gasy smell when it runs, and if it sits it will go away
also check no oil is leaking on the exuast from a oil leak as such ,
