Yes i have that problem too, and my check engin light would blink on and the code would read bad ignition coil on cylinder 3 and misfire below 1000rpm. i replaced plugs, coils, pcv valve, fuel filter but it still has the same sputter.i have no idea where it is coming from....

Many thinks it is the intake manifold gaskets... i will change mine this week-end and i'll keep you guys posted. i had the same codes as above with the coils and it still sputters. so i am going foe the vaccume leaks before the expensive repairs.

I just got my idling switch changed and it helped a lot i would get it from ford over orielys i knew someone who got it from there and it went out a week later plus one of ur spark plugs might be alined wrong or a coil might be stripped which is around 80

It is a possibility that the station you were at, was wattering down their gas, Especially in remote locations, or they had "stale" gas which is basically gas that has started to lacquer.

My 2011 mustang has 55 thousand miles on it and 10 grand in upgrades from a great mech shop iam out of town and drove thru some water on the road now it spits and sputters at high rpms and will stall

you may have poor ignition wires that need to be replaced or a bad electrical connection that is affected by water either for the ignition system or the fuel injection system. just some places to look.

Backfire, Black smoke from exhaust, spitting and sputtering

If you have not replaced plugs start there A bad map sensor will also cause black smoke and poor running

My 200 dodge caravan stumbles after it warms up..when you give it gas. it never shuts off on me, just hesitates and spits and sputters when i start giving it gas. and also just giving it normal gas going...

When was last tune up? Plugs, wires, all fluids & filters..especially fuel filter??? I'd start there and run a good fuel system cleaner through it.

When u push on the gas it spits and sputters, it ran out of gas like 2 weeks ago and yes sometimes i do let it run low on gas. It spits and sputters when i turn a corner or go up a hill

Could be a clogged fuel filter, and or dirty fuel injectors. Try running some strong injector cleaner through it. It may take 2 or 3 times before it cleans the injectors out fully.

1995 Jeep grand cherokee is missing while running. When it is under a heavy load (driving fast) it runs fine. When idleing and slow driving it spits and sputters.

I have the same problem on my 95 grand cherokee laredo. Sometimes it starts out fine and after about 10 miles it starts spitting and sputtering. Then after a while it seems to clean out and run fine again for a little while. Then other times it starts out spitting and sputtering at the begining. I changed the fuel filter and that was not it. It is a 4.0L 6cyc. Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Broken Arrow, OK
