2003 Impala - mystery problem???

We thought our battery went bad so we changed the battery the very next day the battery was dead again. So we replaced the alternator. The car ran ok for a day. Although the door lock remote would not work. Two days after the new battery and the alternator, the car is completely dead. When the key is turned no noise at all. Help, does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next.

My battery also went dead, so I got a new one. The next day my battery died again, so I got an alternator. Within three days I could not here anything, it would not start up. I checked for any lights that might have been left on, I could'nt find any. In fact, I think a couple of interior bulbs are missing like in the glove department and maybe in the trunk too. So if I have bulbs missing could there still be a problem? Or just what could it be?

You have something thats staying on with power when you shut the car off, first check all lights glove apartment, underhood,in trunk ,just because ther closed doesnt mean the light is off, check your car at night it might help to see the lights,if not another way is to take a multi meter to the battery and while some holds the meter pull out fuses in your fus box one at a time to see when the meter makes a change, this will help you to narrow down whats staying on and draining the power from the battery,if this helps please give me a fix ya vote

I have a 2003 ford focus wagon second hand. My battery died out and I thought the alternator was the problem. Brought my car to an alternator repair shop and they said the alternator is still good. I ended...

Lead acid batteries don't like being discharged flat, and it could now be damaged and unable to hold a charge. It does sound as though the voltage regulator part of the alternator is allowing discharge to ground when it should not. You would seem to have a good warranty claim on the battery given they did check the alternator and pronounce it OK.

Truck is draining charge and not charging battiers

I just went thru same thing with my 2003 f-350 diesel. I hooked up my horse Trailor and drove to Von's parked went in came back out and truck was dead. I tried to jump it didn't work. Then over next two hours two tow truck Drivers hooked up to both batteries full power charge direct to my truck and would not start.
End story required two new batteries alternator and cilanoid discussed above. In other post. Also contributing to the cause was really badly coroded cables they looked good at the connection point but wher discovered to be coroded inside the tubing just above the end connections so bow it has all been replaced and I have had no trouble since. Hope this helps. Tanya

I have a 2006 Chev Impala. Recently the radio would have low volume which I could not adjust and the next time I went to start the car , it wouldn't start. I would boost it and it ran fine for about 2...

I actually have two thoughts on this. The first thing that comes to mind is that the dealer may have sold you a defective battery. The second thing that comes to mind is that your alternator may not be charging properly. If your alternator is still charging, but charging at to lower voltage your battery will still maintain a charge but will go dead over time. I would ask your dealer to perform a load test on your charging system in order to figure out what is going wrong. I hope this helps you out.
