I replaced the ignition lock cylinder on my 2000 Nissan Pathfinder and it will not start due to the anti theft is on. How do i disable it?

I don't think you can disable it.
You'll probably need to get a key cut for the new cylinder using a blank with the same chip the old key uses.
The dealer or a locksmith should be able to cut the right key.

1996 landcruiser wont unlock

The Toyota keys are made from very soft material and wear very quickly. Quite often a worn key will still work in the ignition but not very well on the door lock. Have a locksmith cut you a new key and this should solve the problem. A good locksmith should be able to allow for the wear in the old key and produce a key that would be as good as new.

The key to my 1993 chevy lumina has broken in 2. I dont have a spear key. What do i need to do to get another key.

you will need to call a lock smith if the broken bit is in the ignition as extractors are not easily purchased. The other thing is when you get the key out of the ignition take it to the dealership and get a new one from them as keys of this year usually have an anti-theft chip in them. Also the dealership can cut you a key from the key code which is in the VIN#.

Good luck

Need the loging code for 2000 vw beetle 2,0.I lost my keys car but a need a code for get ones

You will have to go to the dealer to get new keys and remotes with the microchip and have it programmed and cut there. VW keys are as you know not like typical auto keys that have teeth and as such they have to be cut with special equipment. Your car will also have an immobilizer that requires a code from the microchip in the key or a key fob remote to disable the immobilizer and this is something that has to be done at the dealership as there are very few locksmiths that handle this. Rough cost estimate is $300 per key with remote and work done.

I locked my keys in vehicle. Can a locksmith duplicate door key from information on the title?

If you take the VIN number to the Chrysler dealer they can look up the key code and cut a key. Most locksmiths use special tools to crack the door open and either push the electric rear hatch button or the unlock button ob the door. If any of your windows are open a crack, your can reach in with a long stick or stiff wire and push the button yourself. If there is no power in the car you can take the front grill off , reach the hood lock mechanism, open the hood, and jump the battery to power the locks.

I lost my key for an 98 ford explorer and i just got a key made but wont trun the locksmith made a key from the door lock we put it in the ignition but it wont trun

There should be 8 cuts total on the key. While the door and the ignition share some of the same cuts you cannot get all the cuts from one cylinder. I believe that the door cylinder only uses 6 cuts and the ignition cylinder uses 7 cuts. The cut closest to the head of the key is #1 and the cut closest to the tip is #8. If I remember correctly the ignition cylinder uses cuts 1 - 7 and the door cylinder uses cuts 3 - 8.If the locksmith cannot decode the ignition cylinder you can try to contact you local ford dealer and see if they can find a key code and cut a key from that otherwise you may have to replace your ignition cylinder.

Hi all, the central locking on my bmw z3 does not seem to work this morning. Both door locks accept the key with force although do not seem to turn - Stiff, akward movement within the lock. The boot lock...

First try lubricating locks with powdered graphite. Avoid ALL liquid lock lubricants. Then work locks through all positions from passenger door. (single lock positions & double lock position) Lastly operate locks via boot lock.

I lost my key to my 2000 corolla hatchback, had keys cut with the chip but not the security or central locking how do I now fix the problem

You have to visit either Toyota or a suitably equipped automotive locksmith/electrician to get the new chipped key to work with the car security system.

There's no DIY workaround.

I have a 98 ford contour and lost the ignition key. how would i replace the lock?

Go to any Ford dealership with your VIN #, and proof of ownership, and they can cut you a key. A good locksmith can do the same.
