Question about 2006 Nissan Frontier

1 Answer

Trailer brake Controls

I am attempting to install a brake control system in my 06 frontier 4x4 crew cab.... I bought the wiring harness from Nissan to plug in under the steering column... but there are 5 wires coming off of it.... I opposed to the Reese trailer brake controler with only 4 wires, the wires do not match color at all and are poorly marked... does anyone have a wiring diagram for this combo or any advice????? Thanks!!!

I have the same problem as discribed below. 2007 Nissan Frontier -- Trailer running lights stopped working. Brake lights and turn signals still work. Where is the fuse for the trailers running lights....

the fuse is inside of the IPDM the white box on r/h side of truck by the battery. there is a black cover that you have to remove to see the white IPDM box. the IPDM has fuses and relays. the tail lamp fuse is the 10amp fuse las one in the row of fuses. its by it self with no fuses next to it. check the IPDM cover on the inside. its marked.

Cruise Control Problem

The two circuits your complaining about have only one thing in common, the vehicles charging system.
I suggest you have the battery ,cables, alternator and wires behind alternator checked out.

The only other item I could think of regarding the cruse control is vacuum. But then it would happen all the time, thats why I believe it to be electrical in nature.

If it's factory installed, there is usually an extra fuse to install in box under hood or in dash.

2007 Nissian Frontier trailer lights

There should be a 30 AMP mini blade fuse in the fuse box under the hood that you are probably missing. I assume that since you got the relays with the wiring kit, that you got the kit from a Nissan dealer. If that is true, there should be a fuse in the kit also- in a sealed bag that has the "trailer wiring harness owner's manual" in it.

Hope this is helpful!
