Should be on the deiver side of the dash atthe bottom viewed from outside the windshield. Also there should be a metal tag under the hood atthe front of the engine bay with it on it.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) plate is stamped on a plate attached to the bonnet locking platform. The VIN is also stamped in the following locations:
1) On a plate behind the LH lower corner of the windscreen.
2) On the chassis RH longitudinal behind the rear wheel.

You'll have to call the dealer have them pull the VIN to see if you have the latest and greatest software. Also you can check on the land rover website under owners put in the last 8 digits of your vin number and it will tell you if the BB8900 is fully compatible.

There are a couple of places. One is on the heads, the other is on the block. Or you can get your vin and a haynes manual and it will tell you.

Your VIN should be located at the bottom of the windshield on a plate fitted to the dash on the driver's side of your vehicle. You would view it from the outside of the vehicle. The VIN should also be fitted to a identification tag on the bottom edge of the door inside or on the door jam.

i can't tell you what the differance is, but the best thing to do when you go to the auto parts store, is to take the vin. number with you. with vin. they can tell you the diferance.
