Question about 1993 Saturn SL2

1 Answer

1993 SL2 TWIN CAM 4 DR.

The car runs fine but used excesive amount of fuel. once it is warm the car tries to bogg out. I have to keep mashing on the gas petal an a puff of black smoke comes out the back. It was suggested that maybe the fuel injection line is clogged. How do I know which one this is? It was also suggested that maybe the fuel injection pump is bad?

I have a similar problem with my 93 SL2 also, mine loades up at idle, idles speratically, if it stalls, i have to hold the pedal to the floor to get it to start like it is flooded. When I try to accelerate it wants to fall flat on its face, for just a bit, then takes off. I have checked the codes, and get code 26 (quad driver output fault). I have replaced both coolant temperature sensors, the throttle position sensor, a coil pack, the fuel pressure regulator, the oxygen sensor, the egr valve, the thermostat, and last but not least the computer. Nothing seems to help, except that when I replaced the coolant temperature sensors, it seemed to run better for a couple days, but that did not last.

check the fuel pump pressure you might not be getting the amount of fuel your truck needs to keep running an easy way to check is to tap the gas when it starts to bog if it picks back up thats what the problem is.

My 97 buick lesabre starts m runs fine once it warms up it boggs n stalls why

check your fuel pressure sensor, that is located on your fuel rail. it would have a vacum hose to the top of it. cause it would cause it to give it plenty of gas upon start up (like a choke) but fails to stop feeding it so much fuel once it warms all the way up. just a suggestion.

93 chevrolet truck bogging down on acceleration

Check intake gaskets. Pour warm soapy water on the gasket when it's running. If it bubbles like crazy, you have a leak. 2. Check timing. Shoot a timing light at the crank mark. If it jumps around a lot, your chain has jumped. #3. check cam. Remove valve covers, run the engine, and see if they are all raisng the valves the same. Put a piece of cardboard along the bottom, and fold it around a little, so it forms kind of a " half valve cover". That way you won't lose oil everywhere, and make a mess, or a fire.

Sounds like your fuel pump is going out on you. Check your fuel pressure. You should have 40 psi when the key is in "on" position. You should have no less than 5 psi under that when it's running.
