My Santa always blows over dosent stay up

You did net mention whether you have a convertible or a sedan.
If you have a convertible, you should not have a problem if you raise the top to the closed position. You must also raise all the windows. Please be most careful not to pinch Santa when closing the convertible top. You may get zilch for Christmas.
If you have a sedan, whether 2 door or 4 door, (or hatchback), raise all the windows up and this should fix the problem.
Again, be most careful not to pinch one of his arms in a window. Be blessed.

Top worked fine yesterday but today tried to let down only clicked

It is a hydraulic pump that applies pressure to the 2 hydraulic pistons to raise & lower the top. So, check for something obstructing movement first.

The convertible top:
  • is motor-driven.
  • requires parking brake engaged to complete circuit for operation.
  • is equipped with a back window glass (42006) . The back window glass is permanently attached to the folding top back window curtain (52500) and cannot be opened.

Z3 Convertible top - seems to be a common problem

In general, without any testing or diagnosis, you could be dealing with any of the following:

* Open relay - Located at the pump unit
* Close relay - Located at the pump unit
* End position micro-switch
* The operating switch itself
* An issue with the pump unit, but I doubt this, due to the intermittent nature. However, do check the hydraulic fluid level.

The windows do not have to be down for the system to run.

The brake pedal must be pressed while operating the switch. There is a switch at the pedal that signals the convertible top system, but if your brake lights are functioning, the brake switch will not be at fault.

The system is pretty simple and some quick electrical tests should locate the faulty item.

The Bentley repair manual for the Z3 has all of the electrical wiring diagrams, for use in the diagnostics. You can purchase this at Bavarian Autosport 800-535-2002.

Convertible top not working

Before you even begin, I would check prices and availability. A lot of top parts for this are no longer available or VERY expensive. All parts are under panels in rear. Just be patient and remember where they go.

There is a fuse No.20 (15amp) in the under dash fuse panel and a 25amp circuit breaker in the under hood fuse panel that controls the top.

2000 BMW Z3 convertible top stopped moving with motor

There are a number of switches that need to be closed in order for the motor to operate. In particular there's a microswitch in the hood just above the left-hand seat which makes sure the motor doesn't operate until the hood has been lifted slightly.

My hood stopped working and I found the cable to the microswitch had been cut by the hood mechanism. Replacing the cable solved the problem.

Automatic convertible top won't open? Is there a way to disengage it and open manually or troubleshoot the problem and fix it?

Check all your fuses there must have been a cut fuse that is not enabling power to reach it.
