Thermostat location on 55 ford escort van

The thermostat is locatud on the top of the engine towards the front underneath the upper radiator hose. You shouldnt have to drain all coolant to change the thermostat. There are usually only two bolts holding the thermostat housing to the engine.

Follow the TOP hose on your radiator to where it connects on your engine block. The thermostat is under the metal piece mounted to the block which the hose is connected to. It typically has to bolts to remove and you will find the thermostat under it once you remove the mounting.

Location of thermostat 2003 Mitsubetsi Eclipse 4

The thermostat is found at the end of the top radiator hose . Find the top radiator hose and follow it to the engine .There you will find a thermostat housing with the end of the hose attached . There will be 2 bolts holding down the housing to the engine. Undo the bolts and pull the housing off and the thermostat will be there.
