Random no start hot or cold

I have 88 town car. Runs great, but in last 3 months, hard to sart 3 or 4 times. I am out of town on business today and wife cannot start it. It wants to start, but acts like it's flooded. She can smell gas, but only pushed gas pedal down when cranking the engine after trying to start it without giving it any gas and had no luck. I listened to it by phone and it is trying to start. If you push the pedal to the floor while cranking, it "tries to start" less. If you then leave foot off pedal and crank it, it almost starts, but will not. Last time it happened to me, I jumped it even though it was cranking strong, and it started immediately. Anyone have this problem and solved it?

you need: spark plugs, spark plug wires, depending on if newer system that is all. if it is older you will also need rotor cap and rotor button. label the plug wires and change one plug and corosponding wire at a time after changing the (cap and button).make shure the plug wires go on the new cap in the same order that they came off.

Wont start has new fuel pump and starter turns over fine going down the road and it spudders like it ran out of gas it just turns over not even trying to start

my 1988 towncar used to stop running on the open road at 70 mph after 20-25 miles of driving.......after sitting on the side for a 1/2 hr it was start right back up like nothing happened. After 2 frustrating weeks and 3 different mechanics I found out through another towncar owner that the ignition coil is getting hot and is causing the engine to shut off...Lo and behold 28.00 and 20 mins solved the problem. Just invest in a good Ignition coil from NAPA or SUMMIT PARTS

The temp door actuator. This is in the ductwork under the dash on the passenger side. Make sure that the cable is moving the door to open up the heater core.

are the heater hoses hot at operating temp?if they are hot you could have a blend air door problem if they are cold you could have a weak water pump not pushing the coolant far enough.

your blend door motor has gone bad under the dash . the blend door motor controls the blend door in the heater box to allow hot or cold air to flow or a mixture of both to reach desired tempreture. this is a hard job cause the dash must be moved back to get to motor.
