There is a vellow light on the pannel with a symbol of a foot on the excellerator

    Ummm..
    I have never seen this before. Are you referring to the choke light?

    What year 240?

Thats the lambda symbol, oxygen sensor light...

Check engine light comes on sporadically and stays on for half a day. they turns off just as mysteriously and may not come on for two weeks or two days. when it comes on, my car wants to cut out....


The first thing to do is to check the ECM for codes. That could give you a clue as to what the problem is. Most part stores (Autozone, etc.) will scan it no charge.

is located on the passenger side by the foot pannel i had to remove my inner pannel on mine to find it also on my 87 ford f-150 it was located directly above the e-break

There is this light " (O)" in my fron pannel lighting in yellow.


It is a brake symbol apparently you have sensors in your brake pads. either your pads are getting low or the wire that senses the pad wear rotted off

Car experiencing a sputtering when excellerating. Noticed it was getting hotter when I would excellerate and the needle would drop back down when my foot was off the excellerater. Also the oil light...


This really sounds like you have a leaky head gasket or worse, a cracked water jacket. You may be getting coolant into your crankcase, which would "water down", so to speak, your oil and cause you to lose oil pressure. I do not know what you mean by your "oil registering fine". I presume you mean the level on the dipstick. Do you keep losing coolant? Is there any brown/white milky sludge under your oil cap or on your dipstick? If so, you most likey would have a head gasket leak.
