1996 Dodge Stratus 2.4 4cyl., no start, no spark or injector pulse.

There are a few possible causes for a 1996 Dodge Stratus 2.4 4cyl. engine not starting and experiencing a lack of spark or injector pulse:
  1. Faulty ignition switch: The ignition switch is responsible for activating the electrical system when the key is turned to the "on" position. If the ignition switch is faulty, it could prevent the engine from starting.
  2. Failed crankshaft position sensor: The crankshaft position sensor is responsible for sending a signal to the engine control module (ECM) indicating the position of the crankshaft. If the sensor is faulty, it could prevent the engine from starting.
  3. Failed engine control module (ECM): The ECM is responsible for controlling the engine's ignition and fuel systems. If the ECM is faulty, it could prevent the engine from starting.
  4. Failed fuel pump: If the fuel pump is not functioning properly, it may not be able to deliver fuel to the engine, causing it to not start.
To diagnose the problem, you could try checking the ignition switch, crankshaft position sensor, and ECM for any visible problems or faults. You could also try checking the fuel pump and fuel pressure to ensure that fuel is being delivered to the engine. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to call a professional for further assistance.

My Honda Civi ESI 1993 model has a problem. The check engine light is randomly appearing when I'm driving, and once it appears, the engine shuts down right away. The check engine light has 1 long flas

code 15 is ignition output signal, an electrical problem. The engine computer sees no spark signals coming from the igniter. This is a good job for a Honda mechanic who isn't afraid of electronics.

I replaced the alternator on my 1999 Audi A6 with 2.8 engine. Now the check engine light is on. Was not on prior to the repairn. How do I correct?

Instructions on How to Turn Off The Check Engine Light:
Step 1. If not using a scan tool, locate your vehicle's battery. Disconnect the 12v positive cable (red wire) from battery terminal (+). Leave it disconnect for 5 minutes. While the battery is disconnected, cycle the ignition switch to ON position 3 times. If using a scan tool to turn off the check engine light, follow manufacturers directions. You will need to find your vehicle's OBD II Data Link Connecter (DLC) and connect your scan tool to the DLC, then follow the steps indicated on your scan tool or scan tool manual.

Step 2. Insure ignition switch is OFF. Reconnect the battery 12v positive cable (red wire) to battery terminal (+).

Step 3. Cycle ignition switch to ON position and wait 1 minute, then start your vehicle. Check Engine Light or Service Engine Soon Light should be reset and turned OFF.

Step 4. Drive your vehicle for one week under normal driving conditions. During this period the emissions computer is gathering data and re-learning your vehicle's emissions components and systems. The emissions computer OBDII (on-board diagnostics) system must complete at least one drive cycle (in some cases two or three). A drive cycle is a sequence of internal tests which the emissions computer runs while your vehicle is being driven. This insures all emissions systems are functioning properly. Proper "readiness flags" are set as the computer completes it's cycles. Test cycles are unique to a vehicle. Certain cycles run under very strict parameters, and may require extended driving time to trigger on. Cycle data and readiness flag information is available through your dealership's service department. The data vary widely.

My service engine light comes on after I have been driving for 20 or 30 minutes goes through cycle again after stopping and turn key off 93 Honda civic hatchback DX

If the car shuts down after the service engine lights on, possible problem is the igniter on your ignition coil. You have to replace the igniter. I had the same problem before with my esi 93 and honda car shop fixed it by replacing the said part. It is better to have the code scanned first. If it gives you 1 long flash followed by 5 short flashes, definitely it is the igniter.

Engine emissions warning comes on with audio sound when initially starting (or switching the ignition on).Goes out after 5/6 seconds The emissions are fine Tried new air mass meter and new glowplugs.

First of all you need to access the Engine Control Module (ECM) using suitable diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC's memored. DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code. Then you will bu full informed about the root cause of the problem, and you will be able to repair & replace bad pieces and reset the ECM. Then the EPC (Electronic Pedal Control) yellow light will turn OFF.

Auto start on my 2007 chevy impla stop working

Since the service engine light only comes on when there's a problem with the fuel, ignition or emission control system the car will automatically disable the car remote because it thinks there might be a problem with the emissions of the vehicle. I suspect it's to prevent further pollution if the car is in fact having a emission problems. In my case(s), the emssion sensor gets dirty and causes the sevice engine light to come on. Bring it to the shop and put the scope on it to make sure there's nothing wrong and reset the error msg. Next time, run it through a car wash, shut the vehicle off and start it again. The service engine light usually disappears for me (thus cleaning the sensor). If your engine light is not on check your fuses. <!-- from fixya rte -->

Engine Light does't come car will not start

did you get the codes by doing the "key dance"(on,off,on,off,on) ?

if so, it almost always flashes a 12 and 55. here is what they mean.

12 - direct power input to the PCM has been disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles

55 - End of error messages
