Ok, I'm assuming you verified that in deed the motor is faulty. You will need to remove the door inner trim panel switches, entry lighting and inner door handle will need to be unplugged/removed there should be a inner weather seal also this seal is important if you would like to keep the inner trim panel from rotting away so carefully remove it. Attached to the window motor is the regulator. The window is directely connected to reg. by two fastening nuts 10 mm. window stops at top of door as well remove. I mark there location when removing this makes adjust alot easier and most times no adjustment needed if marking is right once window is out regulator and motor can be removed I strong suggest that if possible to move the reg. and window motor in full up position to remove motor this is because the reg. has a spring assit to help raising window glass and is under tension to be wary of this fact Three screws attach motor to regulator these screws will in most cases be tight sometimes requiring " Impact Driver Tool" this is a hand used with a ball peen hammer once screws are out reassembliy time If this is your frist time with this type of repair I suggest help of assitant window glass will need to be very carefully handled.. good luck

I am having trouble with my 1990 Mercury Cougar window. The power window was running and would not go down so I forced it down half way. The motor is running but nothing is moving... Since I pushed it down...

You'll have to replace the regulator/motor assembly with a new one if the mechanism was damaged, which sounds like it was. Plastic parts break on these systems. If it is snowing and you don't have the resources to replace it right now, try to tape some plastic over the window using duct tape. But, this is only a temporary solution.

How do i open my 1990 suburban back cargo window, the electric motor doesn't work is there another way to open it

Don't get cut!!!!!
If it is the switch you can bypass it.
Remove the switch the switch will have 3 wires most of the time. Find the power wire or run a power wire to the switch if no power. One of the 3 wires makes the window come down.
If the motor is bad you will need to remove cover from inside of door. Place a 2x4 in side door to keep window from falling. Unbolt linkage, Remove clips or rivets. Next get help to hold window up remove 2x4.
let window down slow. Open door and replace motor.
Caution door parts are very sharp!!!!!!!!!!

YOU TWO WINDOWS NOT WORKING OR ONE OF POWER WINDOW NOT WORKING. IF YOU HAVE TWO WINDOWS NOT WORKING YOU SHOULD CHECK THE HUGE BOX. IF ONE WINDOW NOT WORKING YOU SHOULD FULL OUT WORKING WINDOW SWITCH AND REPLACE WITH NOT WORKING SWITCH. IF IT DOES NOT WORKING YOU HAVE POWER WINDOW MOTOR.

The driver window went out how to replace the motor on a acura cl 3.0

If you are sure it is not the switch, go to ebay and find a replacement window regulator. This is the mechanism with new gears and motor. Then go to an auto glass company and pay them to put it in. Stay away from Accura dealers as they will soak you. Kind of complicated and often special tools are needed. Usually much faster and job is done better by someone who does it all the time and is familiar with the many different styles of window regulators.

I have a 1990 bronco, and the driver side power window won't go back up. I believe the motor is shot, and I probably need to fix it, so how would I go about doing that? does anyone have instructions on...

first try to replace the switch,
if not, you have to take out the door panel, and then you'll be able to get to the elevator, the motor comes out easy, it's fixed just with some screws

Your window motor is faulty, you'll have to have it replaced. But you could have someone pull on the glass while you try to roll up the window, with some patience you should be able to get the window up.

Power windows don't work on 1990 mercury topaz

First check all fuses.
Check the switch on the door by making sure there is power to the switch and test the switch controls by back probing the wires and activating the switch. sometimes its trial and error.
If that is all good, then the window motor is at fault and needs replacing and the door panel has to come apart to replace motor.

If you think its a motor try pounding the lower end of the door while trying to roll window up with the switch. this may give the motor a second life but it may be short.

1990 maxima Drivers side window, will power down but won't go back up

Check the cable that lifts the window. If the cable is frayed or twisted and stuck the window will not work.

If this is the case the window regulator assembly must be replaced. It contains the bracked and cables that operate the window. It cost about $100.

I replaced all four on my 1990 maxima.
