Question about 2002 Audi A4

2 Answers

Install Radio I tried turning on the stereo system for my 2002 Audi A4 Quattro, and the screen remained blank and none of the buttons were responding. I tried turning the system off, but it would not turn off and only remained on the blank screen. I tried to remove the stereo but I do not know how. Please help me.

I had the same (or similar) problem with mine. I had just bought a 2002 A4. The radio worked fine; then a couple of days later it did not work anymore. The screen had a slight glow to it, but none of the lights came on and none of the buttons worked. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it. The radio worked again.

More than likely the fuel pump. This may sound stupid but take something and give your gas tank a bit of a thump. What year is the car?

Audi a4 quattro

a rubber one, should be changed at 50-60,000 miles. Audis recomendation is like 90,000 I think but have heard of them going much sooner than that. A preventitive Cam -timing belt job way cheaper than doing it after it breaks and ruins valves and cylinders!

Radio reset code for 1998 a4 audi

I had the exact same problem on my 1998 Audi A4 Quattro Sedan I just purchased. I read a couple of other posts that said to try looking for the radio code in the spare tire compartment in the trunk. Sure enough on the right hand side of the compartment was a information label and on it someone had written the code 1174 in pen. I then left the key in the ignition and the radio on for an hour. Then I pushed the DX and FM1/2 button and the same time until the "1000" number appeared on the display. Then I pushed in the code 1174 using the 1 - 4 tuner buttons. For example the number 1 key I pushed until the number 1 appeared. Then pushed button number 2 until the number 1 appeared, pushed button 3 until the number 7 appeared and button 4 until number 4 appeared. After I had the code 1174 on the display, you again push the DX and FM1/2 button at the same time and the radio unlocked and worked perfectly. I hope that this helps. I have the Delta (Bose) AM/FM Cassette radio in my car. Good Luck!!

2000 Audi A4 stereo system

Yes. I know of two units out there: Denison's IceLink, and the Phatnoise box (or Phatbox, as some call it). I believe both install the same way. You figure out where you want the iPod connector (say, glovebox). Pull the stereo out of the dash, disconnect the CD changer (you'll lose the changer function with these but who cares?), and plug the adapter cable into the changer's port. It'll allow the iPod to play through the factory stereo, and will allow you to control the iPod with the buttons on the factory stereo.
