Question about 2000 Honda Accord
Manual indicated always to use Honda Premium Formula Auto Trans Fluid. is it really neessary? too expensive for the type of fluid flushing service
You can use Lube Guard friction modifier to convert Dexron 3 to Honda spec. It has a red cap & should be available from O'reiily Auto Parts. What you will get with Dexron/Mercon is a harsh shift. I have flushed & saved many Honda's by doing this. If your Honda is a V-6, then be advised that there were major problems with those transmsissions & can be quite expensive to rebuild.
