Question about 2001 GMC Denali

1 Answer

2001 denali When driving on the freeway yesterday we noticed that when we stepped on the gas the denali bogged ever so slighlty. When we were in the slow lane my husband stepped on the gas and it started choking and bogging down, with a kind of jerkiness. Whenever he stepped on the gas it got worse. We ended up having to pull over and get towed. When we got it home I started it and it coughed and sputtered for about half a minute then died, after that it wouldnt start again. What could this be? Thanks, Shani

The security system (Passlock) is having problems, it's typical on those trucks. You can find a great write-up here: http://newrockies.ca , it was the only thing that saved my Park Avenue.

Vibrating noice when step on gas

You need to have the front hubs (wheel bearings) checked. You can drive it to where it is making the noise then gently steer back and forth, shifting the weight of the vehicle. If you notice the noise change, louder, or less loud then you have a wheel bearing going out. It will need to be replaced ASAP because it can be a real safety issue. Good Luck
