Change the drive belt and have the voltage regulator in the back of the alternator checked out and also check for any draws on the car anywhere cause this can cause the alternator to over charge trying to keep the battery charged up

Why my car when i turn large light fail and the car try to turn off?

I also agree with electrical power failure. Either the battery or the alternator is not charging enough current.

check the voltage supply of your alternator, it must be supplying more than 12v and less than 14V.

05 outback R charging system issue

Are you sure the battery is good? It may not be holding a charge for long if the electroyte is low or weak. How old is the battery? If more than three years, it's worth replacing it. If you still have the problem, then you probably have a "parasitic: loss" in your electrical system. Some accessory or short is draining the battery faster than the alternator can keep it charged. Unless you're good at electrical stuff, have a service manual and a volt-ohm meter, get a mechanic to check for that.

Non working gages, windows, radio, & loss of power

Good chance that your alternator has gone bad and your electrical system was running off the battery. Best to have a shop re-charge the battery and do a charging test before doing any other diagnostics.

your vehicle electrical system (anything that needs power) runs on the charging system (altenator). The only thing the battery does is start the vehicle unless your charging system is not working then it will use the battery until all the power is gone in it and then you will have nothing, like the symtems you wrote about. It sounds like a classic case of a bad alternator. I would start by charging up your battery and see if it will start then, I'm guessing it will. If it does start check your charging system. Most of your local auto part stores will do this for free for you. To my memory (not perfect though) there isn't a fuse for the altenator so that's most likely what is bad. That's where I would start and that's what i do for a living. I hope this helps you and good luck.

How will your car run if the battery is not fully charged

If your alternator/electrical system is 100%, it will run normally and charge the battery as it runs. If the electrical system has a problem and the is not 13volts available as you drive, it can cause a loss of power, or stop all together, or missfire or burn up electrical componets. Low voltage is bad.

Not cold out, battery light on with loss of power

Battery light ON means either battery not charging (alternator stopped working) or battery not accepting charge (dead cells in battery-need replacing).

However, your power steering ALSO works on a belt system. Check the alternator belt and the power steering belt. They may be the same one, or they may be separate.

Hope this helps.

Total loss of electrical power

Is your battery charged up? Check your battery connections. If it is the original battery, it is possible that it could have failed by now.

Good luck.

1999 Ford F150, Charging system. Light continues to illuminate requiring electrical system service. replaced altenator. But continues to kill battery. Loss of all electrical power. What could be the...

Your battery may not be holding its charge. Charge the battery and take a voltage reading. Then after a few hours take another reading andsee if the voltage has dropped. If that is alright, refit the battery to the car. turn off all the electrics anddo a voltage test. If the battery is discharging then ou will have to find what componant is drawing the voltage. I normally check the boot through the rear seats first.
