Follow yourtop radiator hose to the motor, the thermostat is located in this housing (referred to as a waterneck) usually secured to the intake with just 2 bolts, note which way the thermostat is facing and be sure to put it back the in same way

Car overheats no visable sign of leak suspect leak in intake manifold

Does the electric fan come on? If not it could be the thermostadt for the fan or it could be the thermostadt not functioning in the cooling system.

After car is running for 3-4 minutes radiator fans activate; but dripping from drain valve increases and instrument panel gauge shows increasing temp; so, where is coolant sensor located and what details...

most of the time , coolant temperature switches are located close to the thermostadt, you might need to check with a auto part store , and have them to print you out a free diagram of where it might be located if other than what i have stated.

I have a 1995 ford escort lx 1.9 and need to know where the thermostadt is located and how difficult to change

It's fairly simple to change. Remove the water hose from the thermostat, remove the 2 bolts and lift away (may need a flat head screwdriver to pry away from thermostat housing). Below is the diagram for your thermostat. Best of luck.
