We have purchased a 93 vw jetta for my son and now we can't seem to get it to pass the etest we have replaced the 02 censor . The more we look into it someone has played around and there is a vacum hose off and the fuel return line is plugged off .We would like to ask if you have a diagram on where the vacum lines go and the fuel return lines go to . And with the fuel return line disconnected would this cause it to have a failure on a etest?

This seems to be a common problem with this series of radio. If you
open the drivers door and pop the fuse panel cover off the side of the
dash, then locate fuse number 42 ( should be 25 amp). Remove the fuse,
check to see if it is blown(it usually isn't), if it isn't blown leave it out for
about 30 seconds to 1 minute and then reinstall. Hope this helps it
worked on my 02 Jetta TDI.
Usually on the VW's if the A/C console lights don't work the console is malfunctioning/broke. If your switches still work the a/c, heat, vents, etc. it just means the light is out and to fix this problem would probably require a "New" console. I purchased on from the dealer for around $100 and did it myself, it was not a fun experience. Check to see if your cruise control works...for some reason my lights were out but switches worked and my cruise control was out.
