Since you posted this on the 13th, my guess is you solved your problem. If not, I will assume that you used the correct key and you didn't force it in up-side down. Unless you have a bad key cylinder (which I doubt), you might try pulling on the steering wheel hard to the left then the right. You also might want to check that your transmission is in Park if an automatic or Reverse if a manual shift.

I don't know where you heard that , no a bad starter would not make the key stay stuck in the ignition lock cylinder !!!!!!! Can you put the trans gear selector in park ? or is it in a gear position ?

Turn key wont start no clicking sound no sound at all

If your lights and horn etc work then it's not your battery so it could be your starter motor stuck. With the ignition off, try putting it in gear then pushing from the car hood/front to gently rock the vehicle back and forth. It should only move a few inches as its in gear. This MAY free the bendix in the starter motor (if this is the cause). If it does work then remember its sticking for a reason... Have it stripped and cleaned! Hope this helps

C70 no power and key stuck in ignition

Generally to get the key out spray internals thru key hole with DWC or similar electronic friendlt spray, some silicones are ok. Then gently move key up and down and turn off & on, wriggle a bit then try to remove key. If not ok then more spray and repeat. Generally this will remove the key, usually it is the security lock dops that are struck and holding the key in.
No power. If once the key is out and reinserted the power is is out then I would get the battery chkd as it could hv "fallen over". Not enough actual energy to turn the motor, u could test with another battery hooked. Otherwise the starter motor connection c/be faulty, or battery connections need cleaning. chk all wiring to starter motor by undoing & reconnecting all. cheers

Turn key, makes clicking noise but not start.

Double check your battery connections. If the battery is new and the starter makes a series of clicking noises when the key is held in the start position than you are not getting a good power supply to the starter or there is not a sufficient ground.

Won't start, makes click sound when key is turned. Lights work, new battery in october.

hi this will be the starter motor, to test it, locate the starter motor, using either a long bar, or a tool that you can tap it with, tap the starter a few times, at the same time have someone turning the key in the ignition to run while you do this, it might just be stuck, if it turns over successfully after this a few times, it was a stuck solenoid and the starter may need changing but if it does not, the starter itself is u/s and needs changing anyway...hope this helps, just a bit of advise, when doing the above, make sure you are not near any moving parts when/if it starts up you could hurt yourself so be careful, you try this at your own risk...thanks

Wont turn over the battery is fully charge with new battery the altinater is good. I think it is the starter ?

It could be the starter or the starter solenoid or even the starter relay. For steps in test each of these I recommend you get the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle.

I have a 2003 jeep libierty .. the key is placed in ignition but wont start the car,, the string wheel is hard to move back and forth it is stuck .. the key dosen't start the jeep .. i was stuck for 2hr...

I may be misreading your post but, it sounds like the steering lock is preventing you from turning the key... sometimes you have to put some force to turn the wheel. It wouldn't hurt either to apply a little bit of lubricant in to the key cylinder. If you are able to turn the key to the start position and it still doesn't start, there is a good chance your battery or starter might be dead. Hope this helps!

2006 Pontiac Montana wont start after replacing battery. Engine cranks as soon a key is moved from off, then continue to crank even after removing the key.

Sounds like your starter solenoid is stuck in the on position if you can get down there and have some one hook the battery on, hit the starter with a hammer some time this will disengage the starter.
