I would suspect that the power steering belt is off the power steering pump because of the snow packed up in the engine compartment.check all the belts and replace as needed.

This could be due to a variety of reasons such as a faulty shift solenoid, internal mechanical failure with the transmission, or an issue with the transmission fluid.
It's possible that the car's transmission was damaged when it was stuck in the snow drift. The slight pause shifting from reverse to drive that you mentioned earlier could also be an indication of a transmission problem. I would recommend taking your car to a qualified mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue. You might get lucky-- but without a visual inspection, you may just hear the intimidating prognosis of a transmission problem.
In the meantime, you can try holding your left foot on the brake while you shift into reverse. Then, as soon as you feel the transmission engage, gently depress the gas pedal with your right foot. This will eliminate the forward roll problem .
look underneath it's probably packed tight with snow underneath. look from the top down too on each side of the engine bet you can't see the ground. May have to go to a good car wash and underbody flush wash it a few times.

You may have snow packed in your wheel wells and steering linkages. See if you can get it to a car wash to make short work of it or use a screw driver like an ice pick if you've got the fortitude. Wear eye protection.
If your drive belt is still on all the pulleys yet and turning properly but you have no power assist then the power steering pump shaft may have broken. Usually the pulley will stay in place and keep turning as usual but if the shaft is broken inside the pump you won't have any assist. I've fixed two so far this winter for this same problem this winter and both were on vehicles that were stuck or ran off of the road into the snow. On both of those you could pull the power steering pump pulley and shaft outwards quite a ways once the belt was removed due to the broken shaft. Ordinarily the pulley won't move in or out more than a fraction of an inch. If the shaft is broken then the pump would need to be replaced.
