More than likely cause for this is a gas leak more than likely one the metal lines under the car has gotten rusty and started to leak
another possibility is a injector is leaking or pressure regulator is bad and it dumping to much fuel into motor but this will usually trigger a engine light (code would be a o2 sensor or bank 1 to rich or bank 2 to rich) also might also have black smoke coming out exhaust
So if u dont have any engine codes more than likely cause is a fuel line leaking

Leaky rear main seal

I bought a 2000 RL used, with some factory warranty remaining, and then bought an extended warranty. While hnder warranty, car began to smell up my garage from fumes from oil dripping onto hot exhaust. Not enough oil at that point to show up on garage floor. Complained to dealer about the odor but Acura Master Mechanic (said he) couldn't find source of odor (although I told him I suspected an oil leak because I had prior experience with oil leaks and resultant smells on another car). On the next service visit after the extended warranty expired, same master mechanic said my RL's rear main oil seal was leaking onto exhaust causing odor. And the dealer wanted north of $1000 to fix it. I declined. Leak has steadily gotten worse - now visible drops on garage floor. An independent repair shop quoted $650 plus the cost of replacing expensive, special Honda transmission fluid. Took my complaint all the way up the chain to the head of Honda in Japan, but got no assistance. No more Honda products for me.

Mty truck has difficulty starting when warm and is accompanied by a fuel odor. I recently replaced the fuel pump and have had this problem since.

if has a fuel odor. it may be the fuel pressure regulator thats bad, it may be flooding out engine. a leaking regulator can cause hard starting, poor fuel economy, stalling, check engine light, gas smell under hood.

2000 acura tl wont start. tries to start but just

You definitly have a timing problem. I dont think its a fuel problem due to the age of your car. Its about past due for a timing belt/chain replacement.

Odor problem when the ac is on!

This could either be a leaky injector or a ruptured fuel line in the engine compartment.

I detect a strong gasoline smell coming from under the hood. And when starting it slightly sound like a carburator receiving alot air and a little gas. Neither of these issues appear not to affect the cars...

Fuel economy is the same, it doesn't seem to be using more fuel? You need to have this checked out asap. Gas fumes are highly explosive, and a slight spark can set it off. Do not park the car inside a garage (fumes can build up, and just turning on a light switch in the garage can trigger an explosion). You may have a leak at an o-ring on one of the injectors, or somewhere along the fuel line. Gasoline evaporates rather quickly, so it may be a little difficult to locate. So, I agree, it may be the injectors (o-rings?), but not the lifters. Be careful, let me know what you find.

Gas odor when at stops sign or parking in garage

I recently had the same problem. It turned out that the fuel regulator on the engine at the left side just above the intake manifold had an intermitent leak. The gas leaking was not always visible so I had the regulator changed and that solved the problem.

A gasoline leak on or around the engine. Bad mileage lately? Check fuel lines and where parked to see if anygasoline leak.
