I also have a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant and need the code for the radio. After changing the battery you need the code which the dealer said was in the manuel. It isn't. I don't have an extra $65.00 to have the dealer put in the code. Am I stuck having paying them to fix my radio?

If you don't have the code, you probably will have to pay a dealer to get it for you. My dealer said it was on the back of the radio and he had to remove it to find it. I have no idea if this is true.

As to the other problem of entering the code 3 times, and it now showing "off" instead. Simply put your ignition in the accessory position for approximately one hour. "Code" will magically reappear.

This applies to the 2000 Gallant. My code is 7357 if you wish to try it.

If disconnecting the battery doesn't reset the lock on the radio, you must leave the car running for 1 hour before it will reset. As told via the dealership. If you need the codes you can get them from any dealership, however some will charge you for them.

You must disconnect the battery again and also the factory alarm must not be in Valet Mode. Stereo will ask for codes afterwards.

Your code is in the owner's manual. If you do not have the owner's manual anymore you can locate your code for free on the mitsubishi website. As far as the radio reading "ofF" this simply means that the code was entered incorrectly 3 times. You can reset this back to "codE" again by disconnecting the battery, or by turning the key to "accessory" powering on the radio to read "ofF" and leaving it sit for approx. 60 minutes, afterwards the word "codE" will be displayed again. At this point you want to enter in your cars specific code, again, found in the owners manual or on the mitsubishi website (you will need vin, radio serial #(

I need a raidio code for a 2001 mitsubishi galant- Model # MR472958 Serial # 99E55715 Ref # CQ-JB1911LA

Your code is 3053

Use preset 1 to set digit 1, preset 2 to set digit 2, etc
Once the code displayed is correct, push your unlock button to unlock the radio.
The unlock button varies by model, but is always either AM/FM, CD, or TAPE.
There is no penalty for pushing the wrong unlock button as long as your code is correct.

If you have locked out the radio from failed code attempts (radio reads "OFF", you will need to leave the key in the ACCESSORY position with the radio displaying OFF for approximately 1 hour. After which time the radio will revert to CODE and you can enter your code then.

I need a code a for my radio 2000 mitsubishi galant es

You should have an anittheft card and that card should have the code. Its like four numbers. I believe if you don't have the card you have to call the actual mitsubishi to get it. And you're going to need it any time your battery dies or your car is disconnected. Hope this helps

Need radio code for 2001 mitsubishi galant battery died . replaced battery vin number is 4A3AA46G31E108241

I read on another site that if you get locked out, your radio will show OFF. All you need to do is keep your radio on for an hour. It will reset itself. Your car doe not need to be on. Not sure if this works, but it is worth a try and may save you $80!!

Car adio

On the code, I assumed all cars had different codes. In case this is not true, try 1791. The radio prompts for the code. Using station preset buttons #1-4, enter the four didit code. Push #1 once, then #2 seven times, etc. After all four didgits entered, I pushed the "CD" button, and voila. Good luck!

I need a radio code for a 2000 mitsubishi galant

Carefully take the front panel off that surrounds the radio and temperature buttons, it will snap straight out. Wiggle the radio out about two inches, it is a tight fit. Get the serial number off the radio. It is on a sticker on the top, left side. Call a Mitsubishi dealer with the serial number. They will want proof of ownership, so have the title ready. After putting in the four digit serial number, hit the cd button and that enters it.
The code is also written on an antitheft card that comes with the car and may be written in the owners manual in one of the back pages.
