The compressor was running full time when the air bag was blown out. It probably fired the compressor. They are designed to run intermittently.

How to check lincoln air suspention pump to see if is putting air to rear bags

First check to see if the pump runs when the key is turned on, if not check the 30 amp fuse in the fuse box right side under the hood. If the fuse is blow the pump may have over heated from running longer than it should. As old as this car is it most likely has dry rotted air bags. If the pump runs spray the rear bags with windex and look for any bubbles should be none. This could get expensive if the pump is already gone.

Rear air suspension

The air system does not lower when you get out, it levels the car and stays level, but is you put weight in trunk and people sitting in the back seat and the car lifts to level out with the weight and then you remove all the weight and rear end is to high up then there is a problem.
These bags do not lift that high, if you hear the solenoids make sure it is not lower , measure. Also, the release of the air is very slow, make sure it is not lower, if you hear the solenoids open the car may be lowering very slow. check the height. If you are sure its not lowering then you may be correct in saying the level sensor may be bad. the only other part would be the solenoids but i would start with the level sensor as the air is going into the bags.
I quick test to check solenoids at bags is to start car and go rear the rear and locate the sensor, remove the arm from the control arm and bring it down so computer thinks car is to high and see if air is released. caution don"t stay under the car as it will lower down slowly. if it starts to lower then turn key off and reconnect lever and replace sensor.there is a company we use that is real good at this air bag system and prices are good with quality parts.http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_LINCOLN_Air_Suspension_Parts_yid2.html

1994 Lincoln towncar excessive rear end sway, what to do to troubleshoot?

The most likely issue is going to be bad shock absorbers however, the Town Car in some year models incorporated a rear sway bar. Normally if there is a problem with the sway bar it is obvious because it is either there or it isn't. The second most likely issue if a bad set of leaf springs. Now, if you have a year model with an automatic inflation pump to adjust the suspension that adds a whole new dynamic to the problem because now you have to consider a bad Air bag, weak pump unit or bad pressure sensor as being part of the problem. If you have one of these systems you most likely hear a pump working under the hood when you turn the key to on before you get to start almost like an electric fuel pump does.

AIR SUSPENSION DEFLATED!!

I have the same issue. Mine is a leak in the air suspension. The first thing to do is go to your under hood fuse box (the one with the oversized fuses) The fuse will be a 30 amp (large green) fuse. If the fuse is blown just go to Pep Boys,Kragen,or Autozone and they are less than $3.00. If this fixes it the air suspension will fill up within a couple of minutes (with car running) Usually these fuses will blow when you have a leak and the small compressor that fills your suspension gets overworked causing the fuse to blow. If that is the case with your vehicle keep a couple extra fuses handy until you get the car serviced. The only time you should flip the switch to the off position is when you are raising the car on a jack. Make sure the switch is flipped on when you replace the fuse.

1993 Varvan, Not Turn Signals, No Heater Blower, And AIr Bag Light Now On

boy, that sound like a major circuit to cause all that. either a main fuse under the hood or a main circuit wiring harness connector. there are no unfused circuits that could indicate a short unless there has been past fuse blowing problems
