Buy the Module for the Emergency Brake. The dash Unit will only play Video while Parked with Ebrake engaged. Or run a jumper wire and a 15A Fuse.

I changed vehicles and forgot how to wire the Model DVD2-654 to my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. do you still have a diagram? I am thinking about getting an amplifier and was looking at some of yours.

To wire a Model DVD2-654 DVD player to your 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, you will need to connect the DVD player's power, ground, and audio/video cables to the appropriate connectors in the vehicle.
Here is a general wiring diagram for a DVD player in a car:
  1. Connect the power cable to the DVD player's power input. This is typically a red wire.
  2. Connect the ground cable to the DVD player's ground terminal. This is typically a black or yellow wire.
  3. Connect the audio/video cables to the DVD player's audio/video output. These are typically colored RCA cables (red, white, and yellow).
  4. Connect the other ends of the power, ground, and audio/video cables to the appropriate connectors in the vehicle.
  • The power cable will typically need to be connected to a fused power source, such as the vehicle's battery or a fuse in the fuse box.
  • The ground cable will typically need to be connected to a bare metal surface in the vehicle, such as a metal bracket or the frame.
  • The audio/video cables will typically need to be connected to the audio/video input on the vehicle's radio or entertainment system.
Keep in mind that this is a general wiring diagram, and the specific connections and wire colors may vary depending on your specific DVD player and vehicle. I recommend consulting the user manual for your DVD player and your vehicle's audio system for more detailed instructions on how to wire the DVD player.

Overhead DVD player in 2008 Toyota Sienna does not show the picture. Sound works.

Hello, I hope this helps. If no change then you probably have a hardware/ wiring issue and the dvd player may need to come out. Please advise
1. Confirm the DVD RSE system is inoperative. (blank screen) 2. For vehicles with Toyota navigation system: Perform the following procedure to turn OFF the RSE Lock function. A. Press the INFO switch on the navigation unit. B. Press the "Screen Setting" touch button on the navigation display. C. Under the "Rear Lock" option, press the "OFF" touch button and then press "OK" in the upper right part of the display. D. Press the DVD switch on the RSE system (if a DVD is NOT already in the player, insert one) and confirm screen is ON and the system will play DVDs. 3. For vehicles without Toyota navigation system: Perform the following procedure to turn OFF the RSE Lock function. A. Push the Audio Control knob multiple times to cycle through the various options (Bass, Mid, Treble, etc.) until "REAR LOCK" is shown on the screen. B. Turn the Audio Control knob so the display says "OFF" next to "REAR LOCK". C. Press the DVD switch on the RSE (if a DVD is NOT already in the player, insert one) and confirm screen is ON and the system will play DVDs. 4. If the above procedure resolves the concern, explain the system operation to the customer. This procedure is described in the Audio/Video" section of the vehicle Owner's Manual. 5. If the above procedure does NOT resolve the concern, perform RSE diagnosis using the Technical Information System (TIS), 2006 model year applicable vehicle Repair Manual.

I put a brand new xtron cd dvd plus navigation stereo in my infinity qx4 suv ut the dvd put a message that said dvd is disabled for your safety what can i do to resolve that

These DVD devices are defaulted to "off" while moving to comply with motor vehicle laws that prohibit a screen from being visible to the driver when the vehicle is in motion.

Typically, there is a wire that is connected to the hand brake / parking brake circuit. If the wire is connected to (+)12V *OR* (-)12V it will enable the DVD to play. Of course, connecting to the wrong one will instantly turn the player into toast.

Locate the wiring diagram for your model to find the cable associated with the parking brake circuit. With a digital voltmeter, set to DC Volts at a range closest to - but not less than 15 Volts DC. Black lead to the - jack and the red to the + jack of the meter. Touch the black probe to ground and the red to a 12V source. You should see a 12 to 15 volt indication. Reverse the probes and you should see the same value, but with a (-) indication. Now you know that black is - and red is +.

SET the brake and turn the DVD on and play. Touch the black probe to a good ground location. Touch the red probe to the brake wire. Note the voltage. It may be 11 - 15 V or 0 to as much as 2 volts. RELEASE the brake and repeat. The voltages should be reversed with the brake RELEASED. If the DVD played with 11 - 15 volts on the wire, connect it to a constant 12 V source. If it played with 0 to 1 or 2 volts, connect it to ground.

Good luck!

Installed a dvd player but i can't get it to play dvds

On the parking brake under the dash is a switch at the top that actuates the parking brake light. On most vehicles most are two wire switches, but some are one wire switches. If you have a two wire switch then you can unplug it and use a test light with the ignition turned on without starting the vehicle and test the wires to see which is the hot wire and then connect to the one that has no voltage on it because it is the ground for the switch. The wire is used to detect the parking brake position as engaged before it will allow viewing of the DVD player when the vehicle is not moving. When the brake is off the DVD player will not play DVDs, this is a safety measure so the driver will not be distracted while driving. Good Luck, RAC

Watch DVD on Comand Aps Mercedes R320 CDI

Rui,

Not sure about the European version, but the American factory version will not play video DVD's while the vehicle is in motion, (Drivers area) due to laws against this. Also...just to cover the non-factory installs, most aftermarket indash DVD players have a safety switch which prevents the driver from playing DVD movies while driving the vehicle. The vehicle must be in park for the DVD player to play a movie.

Hope this helped.

How do you work the sound on the DVD player?

I have a 2005 with DVD - but do not have the wireless headphones. I use the AUX button on the front radio to switch between FM/AM/and the DVD Player. I do have headphones jacks in the roof console by the DVD player, but have never used them.
