Overheating '99 Mazda 626 LX 6-cyl

I cannot find any water leak, but car will overheat 3 to 4 weeks after filling up water reservoir. Someone suggested checking the water pump drip hole, but I seemingly can't find it. Picture or location of where water pump is would be helpful.

Pretty much the same issue. Coolant pools under the car, below the crankshaft pulley after the engine cools. I can't see where it's leaking from but I suspect the water pump weep hole. It seems no one answered the original question as to where to find that hole?

My mechanic also did a pressure test when my overheated 2 days ago and told me I need to replace the plastic reservoir due to a small crack. How can I tell if the thermostat is also in need of replacement or blocked etc, and if it should all be done at the same time. I was also told that I would need a costly radiator flush. Please advise and alert me about what I should expcet to pay to remedy the overheating. I have an appointment in the a.m. Thanks

My 99 Mazda 626 overheats I dont have any leaks from the waterpump or hoses I actually removed the thermostat after replacing it about 6 times so now I have no heater in the car. Thats ok I live in south Texas (its always hot here anyways). However it still gets hot ocasionally and I can hear the water boiling in the reservoir. They are cheaply made so it wont be able to take that kind of heat much longer.WHY is this hapening? Can anybody help

Pretty much the same problem. After careful investigation, I noticed that the cooling fan never turns on. I have yet to buy the new fan but keeping my AC on at all times is keeping the car cool. Nonetheless, I am forced to check the water in the reservoir (which I have changed 3 times already due to cracks) every morning.

Finally gave up and took to local shop where they performed a pressure test on the engine coolant system. They found a small hole in the plastic reservoir which had to be replaced. Issue now resolved – thanks!

My 2002 mazda 626 was overheating. Replaced the radiator (cracked) and coolant tank (leaking). Still overheating. Its the thermostat or the water pump right? Which should I check first? Where how and what...

I would check the thermostat. It should be in the housing that the upper radiator hose connects to. I would take the thermostat and put it in a pan of water on a stove, if the thermostat doesn't start to open before the water begins a rolling boil, the thermostat is probably stuck closed.

'95 Mazda 626 LX 6cyc - Heat is spuradic...I notice the temp gage will spike and then the heat will get warm and it will return to the normal range?

You have air in your cooling system. Fill your cooling system when the car is cold. First check the radiator if it has a cap, fill that first, replacethe cap tightly, then fill the overflow tank to the indicated level. Start it and turn the heater to the full hot position. Let it run untill it reaches opperating temperature. Quickly squeezing the upper radiator hose 3 or 4 times every now and then to "burp" the system. look for leaks. If this does not solve the problem you may possibly have a headgasket leak.

How do you replace a serpentine belt on a mazda 626

A 626 has two belts. One drives the power steering and water pump (rear belt in 6 cyl) and other front belt drives the a/c and alternator. On the 4 cyl, the front belt drives the power steering and the a/c, and the rear belt drives the water pump and the alternator. All of these are easy to change.
