Question about 1998 Saturn SL
I have a Saturn SL2 and I am having basically the same problem. The car was running and starting fine until yesterday when I went to the store stopped car a when I got out my interior light, power locks, radio, keyless remote didn't work and of course the car. All lights on dash work but no click...Finally after messing with it it started and then again today same thing and at the same store...huh but no start up yet so I gave up for a while..... I know ..... Stay away from that store.. ha ha... Well I'm thinking probably anti-theft... Any Help from anyone would be great.
After having this problem with my daughters car. I checked the starter and relay in the engine compartment as well as the fuse box in the engine compartment. These did not yield any positive responses from her car. I then went in and checked the fuse area on the drivers side Center console by the little kick panel, as soon as I grabbed the small wire distribution point down there and wiggled it, I heard the power door locks engage, the stereo came on, and I was able to start it right up.
Thanks for the info, I was about a step away from taking it into a shop to get it fixed.
Have a great day, keep giving guidance on car issues.

Intermittent problem such as what appears that your car has is at best be describe as a test of patience.
Initially would appear to be electrically related. Based on your post/description, pls try and check the ignition wiring (going to the ignition switch behind the tilt lever) along the steering column.
Of course the normal checks should also be considered, battery, battery cables, fuse and fuse box (both in the engine bay and driver side of the center console), relay bank, harness and connectors. Manual cleaning and a spray of electrical contact cleaners should also be performed when in doubt.
Though the technically correct procedure would be to have your car's computer checked/scanned and the readings interpreted.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
