Remove the freewheel hub next (6 bolts) and remove the top and bottom control arm bolts. Don't split the ball joints unless you have a splitter. Simply turn the steering wheel to the side you're working on. Remove the circlip and shove the shaft backwards through the hub. Now, go to the inboard bolts and undo them. You now have a drive shaft in your hands. Go wild.

Can't budge outer cv joint Mazda MPV 1991

the outer cv joint is separable
you have to take the complete drive shaft out of the vehicle first to do it
It is not a simple process to break the joint down and you will need mechanical skill, a good off set vice and a heavy hammer
it is more cost effective and less frustrating to simply have drive line specialists replace the shaft for you

Show me hoe to repair a cv joint for a Saturn Vue 2006?

Buy the shaft assembly instead of trying to change the cv joint on your shafts. They aren't much more expensive and will save a ton of time. Remove wheel, brakes, rotors, axle nut. Slip the shaft inward and press out if the hub. Then simply pop it out of the other end. There is a retainer clip on the differential side that springs in and out of place. A prybar or long screw driver helps pop it past the detent.

Need to remove a cv axle fro 2000 mazda milliniem. any tricks

no tricks only work, but its easy as 123, you need to carefully jack the car up and put a stand under the car for support, take off the big nut in the center of the rotor, then remove the rotor, then remove the 2 bolts and nuts that is supporting the shock, then pull the knuckle forward, then remove the lower ball joint bolt and nut, you might have to pry the knuckle open at the bottom to take off the knuckle from the lower ball joint, then pull the knuckle upwards, after that pull the cv joint axle outwards, you might need to pry the drive shaft from the transmission, drive shaft is the same as the cv joint shaft

How do I remove the outer CV joint from the axle?

After removing the axle assembly, clip the metal band on the large side of the rubber grease boot, slide the boot back on the axle shaft. Pull the outer CV housing and axle stub away from the CV joint. You will find that there is a circlip holding the bearing carrier onto the axle shaft, remove it. Remove the boot.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

How do I remove the driver-side inner axle shaft

its retaind with a roll type snap ring. you need to POP it out. being carful not to damage it seal, pry with a good jolt between the trans and cv cup, or take a pry bar or pipe and jab at it like your stabbing it lol. dont use a hammer or go crazy but it takes a good wallop to release. then slide it out, to install, trun till it drops in and POP it in by hand with the slop in the cv joints.good luck!

My front differential is leaking!

I cannot see it, but I am guessing that you need to replace your axle seal. To do this, you have to pull your CV shaft out. Remove the tire, remove the caliper from the top of the rotor. Using a hammer on the back, remove the rotor. Take off the spindle (axle) nut, separate the axle (CV shaft) from the hub. Replace seal. It should pop right out. Good luck!
