I have a 96 2500 chevy truck and it shut off while I was driveing down the road. I was coming to a stop sign so I stopped and took it out of gear and it started back up. Its happend 3 times in 2 months. Last time on the interstate and it seemed to shut off but came right back on.

U need a governor and temp sensor. Pull the pan and u will see them

Try doing the following.

Engine stalling issue at low speeds

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

When the light flashes it means a cylinder misfire, so you must check everything, spark, (first) injector fuel delivery intake manifold vacuum leaks and compression if not other problem accounts for the misfire.

check rear end to see if ring gear is ok or bearings are ok .check u joints

vacuum booster went bad. the round canister behind the master cylinder. not a real tough job, but if you do not have much brake experience i would advise you to have it done

It keeps burning out blower resistors because of the blower motor drawing to much amperage so you will need to replace the resistor and blower motor

yes your problem is the motor. theres a new part number to replace that one. and correct not only malibu but also cobolt has the same problem

what is happening is your spider gears and side axle gears are probably going out... it might also be the ring and pinion... just happened to my 2000 S10 and turns out spider gears were toasted... have a mechanic check out your differential. you pop the clutch alot?

shifts off electric servo controlled by cars computer , see trans guy you can trust could need service ,oil and filter changed or part , like i said see one you can trust .
