Question about 1996 Saab 900
After I have the car up to about 3000 RPMs and I get to a stoplight, I push the clutch in and as the RPMs fall to a idle, sometimes the car will cut off completely. It happens not only when just pulling out of a parking lot, but also after driving the car for an hour and coming to a stop.
Check the IAC valve and all vacuum lines. This link will take you to a DIY site showing where the valve is located on the naturally aspirated 4 cylinder Saab and how to clean it. If any vac lines look suspicious (dried, cracked or otherwise) replace all that you can get to. Vac leaks are notoriuos for causing poor drivability and stalling. Finally, clean out your throttle body and throttle plate and do a tune up if it has been a while (i.e. put in some new plugs, a new distributor rotor, a new air filter, etc.).
