Subaru GT sports/w 2.0l air flow sensor unit

It tend to **** at abouut 4.5rpm

    yes i still need help. can it be my fuel pump or fuel filter cos my fuel pump is suspect as it is.this problem only happens when i try to perform with the car or should i say when i accelerate hard for that quick response.

SOURCE: the heat in my 98 subaru GT is blowing cold air.

sometimes the flap (door) thats controlled by the switch for heat or air will get out of wack. this is a tuffy because all that is behind the dash. you could pull it out or try under it to see if your switch moves correctly.hope this is of some help

When water heats fast the temperature must be checked independently to eliminate possible electrical problems with the gauge or sender.

If the coolant really is getting too hot too fast a restricted coolant circulation should be suspected. Thermostat is the most likely cause of low or zero coolant circulation but other sorts of blockage are possible and it has been known for the water pump impeller to fall off the shaft or to break up., though these things are rare. I don't advocate suspecting this unless there really is no flow and this is best checked by disconnecting a heater hose.

A restricted air flow through the radiator or the cooling fan not working would probably cause overheating but that tends to take longer and be unremarkable in the speed of overheating.

It is possible for a leaking cylinder head gasket to pressurise the cooling system and displace coolant and disrupt the thermostat operation.

Hi - i'm thinking of buying a subaru wagon, 1996. guys says it idles fine but then starts to sputter when given gas. any thoughts? thanks.


Mass air flow sensor or fuel pump or both, they will run $300.00 for the pump, fuel sock and filter mass air flow sensor runs about $300.00 as well. But if it is doing what you say the catilitic converter may be dead and Subaru parts are expensive, the cat I am gussing is $300.00 aftermarket. so I would take it to a shop and have it diagnosed before you buy and at a Subaru shop. You may want to walk away from it, you didn't mention if it had a check engine light on or not, and if the cat is plugged or damaged you may have to buy a 02 sensor.

Uneven acceleration just at the begining when starting forward.


If I am to understand correctly you are referring to the MAF, Mass Air Flow sensor. If so, it is a very simple job without the use of special tools. Disconnect wire connection from sensor. Remove air cleaner assembly From the air intake duct. Remove nut ( 10mm If i remember correctly) and lift from air cleaner. Then just reverse to reassemble. Hope this helps.

Heater 2002 saturn sl1 poor air flow


A leaking A/C unit tends to get grimy, decreasing air flow. Have your refrigerant pressure checked, If it is low, have the mechanic open up the HVAC system and clean the grime off the AC condenser with some solvent, or do an expensive A/C repair. Also of note: Some 2002 SL models were equipped with cabin air filters. If you have one, get it replaced.

Air Con cuts in and out and so does cooling fan


I have a 2008.5 Mazda 3 GS Sport and when you turn the air flow selector to windows or windows/floor, the air condition will turn on automatically. (Can't turn it off.)

I would say that the sensor may be bad the only other thing that i can think of is that the PCM lost its idle settings. then it is trying to relearn the idle setting and adjusting for the air sensor and/or the O2 sensor.
