the dash tightens with basic 10 mm bolts dashpad is secured by flat phelliphs head screws in or trim and cornes of pad check and replace if needed ur shifting fork also check to c if u clutch and pressure plate installed correctly grinding goin into gear sounds like it cant build a clutch in past ive installed a bolt through dash with a rubber stop on back to keep clutch pedal from coming so far foward towards the seat
Trust me... I did alignments for years and this is NOT a DIY project! Caster is non-adjustable (unless you choose to grind the strut towers), and camber may require installation of a cam kit. Even setting the toe-in requires precise measurements and each side is adjusted separately. If not done correctly the steering wheel will be off center. Please, if you don't understand the steering geometry of a vehicle and are properly equipped - just don't do it. You'll cost yourself more time and money for someone to straighten out the mess later on.
You should check your wheel bearings again and check the front brakes and rotors. Pay close attention to the inner pads and the rotors. You can get a grinding vibration from hard spots in the rotors or the pads and these are often overlooked as a cause. Everyone goes to bearings or trans first, so it is not you everyone does it I've seen it happen for years. But pay close attention to the brakes, worn, hard spots or heat/burn marks all can cause this to happen.
1.The shims go between the starter body, and the engine block. These are installed to space the starter drive gear, away from the flywheel. They are only used if needed.
2.There is a gap that you need between the starter gear teeth, and the flywheel teeth. This gap should be about 3/32nd's of an inch, to 1/8th of an inch. With a flashlight, and a ruler, measure between the outside edge of the starter drive gear teeth, and the outside edge of the flywheel teeth.
Too close, when starting the vehicle it sounds very metallic, and like you're grinding corn. Too far away, and the teeth don't engage properly, and you'll KNOW it! Sounds like a metallic 'zing', as the teeth skip. (Also it won't be long, and you'll be replacing the starter drive, and the flywheel!)
