Is it hard to get at a timing belt for an '03 Honda Odyssey?

Belt Tension-er or Belt Idler. Alternator, Ac or Power steering pump bearings.

on the crank in the front behind the timing belt. thats why it is the money it is. you should replace the timing belt as well since you are there.

Its always advisable, whenever replacing a timing belt, to always replace the tensioners at the same time

2003 ?? then yes its advisable to change the lot regardles of mileage ,the water pump iam not so sure about its just that its driven by the timing belt and if it goes wrong and leaks its big job to change ,but if vehicle has had antifreeze in it from new then i wouldnt bother ,yes i would wiggle the drive shaft whilst belt is off and if no play then leave it alone but you know the dealers ,someone has to pay the suited and booted sales staff with their gelled up hair and the secretarys make up and new clothes

if there is any question in your mind that there might be a problem I would replace it I do all of mine every 125000 miles just to be sure and at that time I'm able to fix any small problems that has the potential for turning into a bigger one later.

you need a haynes repair manual . it save you time. it shows you step by step . what to remove to get to timing belt or chain . show you photos how to set timing chain cam and crank timing marks.
