Question about 1999 GMC Jimmy

Rough Idling and slow accelaration

I have a 99 Jimmy that idles very roughly when starting out and won't accelerate until the engine has had about 30 seconds of running. Even then the engine still stutters when climbing hills and absolutely no acceleration when trying to pass someone. I have replace spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter. Any suggestions as to what to try next??

Maybe have your exhaust checked for plugged catalytic converter

Have you the intake off? if so check for trash in the fuel ejectors. I had the same problem, I just replace the fuel meter body with one from the junk yard

How do I test and change a bad ignition coil in a 99 Maxima?

Im having the same issue w/ my 99 maxima. had the problem 2 months ago, they replaced coil, changed plugs, told me that I would still get knock sensor code but dont worry about it. Now the rough idling and check light flashing is happening again.

Service Engine Soon Light

The best way to know what is happening there is to drive a GMC dealer and get them to hook in the diagnostic tool and read the computer memory for present faults.

sounds like a large vacuum hose was knocked off the engine when they pulled the trans out, have that checked.

First thing I would do is clean the throttle body if nothing changes check your mass air sensor if still nothing. change (or clean) your oxygen sensors can normally be found on the exhaust manifolds. also it couldn't hurt to give it an oil change and use a fuel additive to get rid off all the nasty build up in the engine I use BG 44K

That's all the information I have good luck!
