Interior dash lights are very dim and hard to see at night. Is this a problem just needing a new fuse?

If the lights are on it means the fuse is OK. The switch for the dash lights works like a dimmer switch. It may just need adjusting or the switch may be faulty. Switch location can be found in the owner's manual. If adjusting the switch doesn't work you will need to have it checked at the garage.

Its not the fuse. U may have dirty lenses. I would start by removing them & cleaning them with soap, water & a toothbrush (i wouldnt re-use the brush) if its still too dark, try using a bulb with a little more wattage. Usually the higher the bulb #, the brighter it will be. If u do this u may have to put in a bigger fuse. Or you can try LED bulbs. More expensive but brighter & will outlast your car!

most dash lights can be dimmed or switched off check this first, then trace the wiring from the switch to the dash lights for a bad connection.

I have a 1994 Buick Park Ave and the interior lights have just started coming on and off during the night for no reason and the car is not running.

These lights are actuated only by connection of the ground wire(white) to the body to complete the circuit. The only place these connections are made is at the door buttons and the rheostat on the dash that dims the dash lights also when knob is turned counter clockwise to dim the dash lights and clockwise to brighten them and on past that bright point to turn on the interior lights. One of the door wires may be bared and close to the body and arcing, making the lights come on and when the wire warms it pulls away from the body and lights go out. You need to remove the kick panel to access this wire and see if it's still plugged onto the back of the button connection and check for bare spots on wire.

Interior dash lights are dim

make sure that there is nothing covering the Ambient Light Sensor on your dash - if the computer thinks it is night time, it will dim your dashlights during daylight hours.

Cluster goes dim when i turn the lights on

your dash lights should dim when you turn your running lights on. This is to reduce the glare for night time driving. There will be a dial on the dash near the cluster that you can adjust the brightness of your interior lights

No interior or dash lights

There is a dash switch that dims the interior lights and then cuts them completely off. Check That. Fuse box is under hood and they are marked.
